Questions clients often ask
Straight answers about process, pricing, files, and timelines. If your question isn’t here, include it in your inquiry and we’ll answer it on your discovery call.
Working together
What does a typical project look like?
Every project follows the same five steps: Discover, Strategize, Create, Refine, and Deliver. After a complimentary discovery call, you receive a written proposal. Once it’s signed and the deposit is paid, we confirm the schedule, gather your materials, and begin. You’ll see work at agreed review points rather than only at the end.
Do you work with organizations outside North Carolina?
Yes. The studio works remotely, so meetings, reviews, and file delivery happen online. Clients anywhere can work with us as easily as clients nearby.
Can you write the content, or do I need to provide it?
Either works. Many clients supply notes or drafts that we organize, edit, and design. If you need original writing, research, or instructional content development, we include it in your quote or bill it at $65/hour for work beyond the original scope.
Who will I be working with?
You work directly with the founder, Kelsey Renée Nicholas, from the first conversation through final delivery.
Pricing & payment
Are the prices on your website fixed?
They are starting rates. Your final price depends on scope, length, complexity, deadline, and whether content is supplied. You always receive a written quote before any work begins, and the price in your signed proposal is the price you pay unless the scope changes.
How does payment work?
Projects begin with a 50% deposit. The remaining 50% is due before final files are delivered, or according to the milestones in your agreement for larger projects. Monthly retainers are paid in advance. The minimum project fee is $100.
What if I need more revisions?
Most projects include two revision rounds. Additional revisions are billed at $65/hour with a $35 minimum. Requests that change the project’s direction or scope are quoted separately before work continues.
Do you offer rush delivery?
When the schedule allows. Delivery within three business days carries a 30% surcharge, and delivery within 24 hours a 50% surcharge. Weekend and holiday work is quoted case by case.
Files & ownership
What file formats will I receive?
It depends on the project: PDF, PowerPoint (PPTX), Word (DOCX), Canva templates, HTML email files, and PNG, JPG, or SVG graphics are all common. Editable source files are included wherever the service calls for them, and your proposal lists exactly what you’ll receive.
Who owns the final work?
Ownership and usage rights are set out in your signed agreement. In most projects, you receive full rights to use the final deliverables once the project is paid in full.
Can you build courses in Articulate Rise 360 or Storyline?
Yes. Articulate courses are built and delivered when an active Articulate 360 license is available for the project. If you don’t use Articulate, we can deliver training as PowerPoint, PDF, or browser-based learning instead.
Will my project appear in your portfolio?
Only with your written permission. Confidential and internal materials are never shared publicly. The current portfolio consists of concept projects created for fictional organizations.
Keepsake books
Do you print the books?
Prices cover the design and print-ready files. Printing, binding, and shipping are separate, and you can use the printer of your choice. We can also coordinate printing for you starting at $50.
How long does a keepsake book take?
Most personalized books take one to three weeks once we receive your photos and written content. For a gift with a firm date, reach out early so we can plan the schedule together.
Complimentary discovery call
Have a project in mind? Let’s talk it through.
Start with a complimentary 20-minute discovery call. We’ll talk through your goals, audience, and timeline, and you’ll leave with a clear recommendation for next steps, whether or not we work together.
